A journey of contrasts
Montengro was not our first trip to the Balkans, but it made a deep impression on us. A country full of contrasts, where everyone gets their money’s worth. In the touristy south, sun, beach and sea on the beautiful Adriatic coast, which is in no way inferior to Croatia or Italy. An ideal opportunity to relax before or after the tour. Even in the capital, everything looks very modern and European. Most of the rest of the country, on the other hand, is still very pristine. Only a few small villages, churches or wooden huts. In between, there are always beautiful, secluded mountain lakes. A paradise for nature lovers of all kinds. And it was precisely into this untouched hinterland that Nils and Aleksandar’s fantastic tour took us. This tour was characterized by magnificent and very varied mountain landscapes. As the driving days were usually not too long, there was enough time to jump into the lake, go for a short hike or simply relax in the beautiful landscape. There was often the opportunity to get in touch with the friendly locals and enjoy the traditional meals. Aleksandar’s good contact with the locals made such authentic experiences possible. When it comes to navigation and routing, nobody can match the knowledge that Aleksandar has acquired over decades in the Balkans. He simply always knows the best off-road routes, wild camps, viewpoints, water sources and anything else you could wish for. Nils is always concerned about the satisfaction of each individual and manages like no other to reconcile the different needs of the group participants. If there are any difficulties in the terrain, he is always on hand with help and advice and will even give instructions if necessary. His evening campfire contributes to a cozy end to the day. These two guides complement each other perfectly. The entire tour was very professionally organized and carried out. Many thanks for that! It certainly wasn’t the last tour with these two!!!
Everything went perfectly
The Montenegro Highlands Tour 2021 was wonderful. Varied routes, totally different landscapes, beautiful camps. The tour guides Nils and Alexandar are absolutely professional, competent, simply likeable, nice and friendly. They are also funny :-) We had a lot of fun and felt very comfortable !!! I can only recommend them. Many thanks for this great tour! Jan and Kathrin
Sensational is an understatement
Lonely together during Corona in the Carpathians. Aleksander ahead, always knows a way. You have to cut and saw your way free “occasionally”. But with 2 chainsaws and 3 handsaws it works. Campfire every evening. Nils rightly attaches great importance to this. Thank God he has a fabulous axe from Sweden. It makes splitting wood a piece of cake. The trip was very well organized. A thousand thanks to NPL. The morning briefing is very professional. You quickly learn what Aleksander means by dust-free and obstacle-free. But when he says “it can work out”, it does. You can absolutely rely on him and Nils. Their confidence in each other is completely justified. After all, it’s not every day that we drive at an average altitude of 1,600 meters on a 25 degree longitudinal and 18 degree lateral incline. And all this is rewarded with incredible views of the Carpathians, helpful and friendly people, sensational night camps and a clarity of stars that we no longer have. The scent of the wild herbs and the shower under the waterfall will remain unforgettable. A thousand thanks to Aleksander and Nils, who organized and carried out an unforgettable tour. We will be back.
Great experience!
A great tour — Latvia is actually the more interesting and extreme Poland. I learned a lot on this tour; not only about off-road driving, but also about my car. Thanks again to Artur for organizing the workshop! I will gladly travel with such a professional team again. It was a great trip like being with good friends! Looking forward to Romania!
Mud Sand Water
It was a great and impressive experience in Latvia. Not only the beautiful landscape, but also the challenging routes inspired me. Lots of mud, sand, mud, water, exactly what I’ve always been looking for. I enjoyed every meter and pushed my ATV to its limits. Where else is that possible! A big compliment to Nils and Artur for their expertise. You are a great team. I will tour with you more often. Nice to have you as friends. The hotels and guesthouses exceeded my expectations. The food was excellent and the sumptuous breakfast buffets gave me plenty of energy for the day. Many thanks for everything, especially for organizing a parking space for my car and trailer. I will remember this tour for a long time to come and the wonderful moments around the campfire by the lake and the barbecue evening. Best regards from Switzerland.… See you soon Sandro
That was great!
The tour was simply fantastic. Beautiful landscapes, challenging terrain, very good accommodation and great support from Nils and Alek. They both have a lot of experience, are helpful and you just feel safe. For us rookies, it was also really nice to ride with so many nice and experienced people in the group. We learned a lot! The contact with NPLOVERLAND was and is always very nice and obliging. We are really looking forward to Tunisia with you in February 2020.
Latvia 2019
It was my 3rd trip with NPL and not the last. The tour was very challenging, fun, exciting and we learned a lot about the country and the people. For me it was an educational trip in rubber boots, which I can highly recommend.
Off road pure
Good, sometimes very challenging routes, great accommodation 6nd good food. The most important thing, off-road every day, 5 stars for that
simply great
As long-time off-road enthusiasts in different “weight classes”, we spontaneously set off for Serbia at the last minute as “consolation stragglers”. We have already explored the Carpathians several times from the north (Ukraine) to the middle (3 x Romania). True to the motto: “Old as a cow, still learning”, our expectations were not exactly low. We were not disappointed! Nils and Aleks had everything under control. Well, almost everything (rain was not to be expected). A smooth tour from hotel to hotel with only a marginal amount of asphalt, breathtaking landscapes with the best viewpoints and the tour guides’ good sense for the group and their wishes (to set a few high points even without rain) gave us 6 great days. Everything else has already been said or mentioned in other reviews. In short: If you want to experience the Carpathians and are an off-road enthusiast (no matter what level), you shouldn’t miss this tour. Unfortunately we can only award 5 stars, so here’s another +++ I think we’ll see you again! Helmut and Frank
