Most of the Kola Peninsula is above the Arctic Circle! That means 24 hours of sunshine a day due to the midnight sun in our arctic summer. From the end of August, the midnight sun makes way for a flaming golden autumn in incredible colors. Then it is almost certain that we can see the northern lights dance in the sky.
During our Russian expedition “Murmansk” we experience all kinds of terrain with our off-road vehicles. Sand dunes, arctic deserts and endless beach drives along the White Sea alternate with dense, huge forests and rarely traveled, muddy paths. The easternmost point of the Kola Peninsula can only be reached with our off-road vehicles. The fantastically rich nature of the Murmansk region, with its crystal clear lakes and rivers, with its picturesque landscapes surprises us every day with overwhelming impressions.
During the journey together, we visit the northernmost metropolis in the world, St. Petersburg. We take a day trip to Kizhi Island, which is located in Onega Lake, the second largest in Europe by the way. Our journey is accompanied by stories about the Sami and their way of life. With a little luck, we will meet bears, moose or reindeer in our camps in complete wilderness. We end the day with exciting stories around the campfire, before we plunge well rested into the offroad adventure at the Arctic Circle again the next day.
